OppLoans' Business Intelligence team is excited to bring on a Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager to partner with teams, using their data to maximize efficiencies and lead a team of junior analysts in the work. Reporting to the VP of Business Intelligence, you will bring your SQL skills and an ability to not only analyze the data, but turn the insights into actions. In this highly-visible role, you will partner with several teams with the full BI process - from complex requirement gathering to sharing and explaining the results to the business.
What you get to do:
- Build sophisticated reporting dashboards, and look to improve partners' efficiencies and processes throughout the company. Includes scoping compliance issues, operational processes, and operational risk monitoring and testing.
- Directly manage a team of 2-3 junior analysts, including mentoring, developing, and quality controlling analysis.
- Be an active member of the leadership team, including sourcing new technology solutions, creating new internal processes, and help grow the BI Team.
- Use data to improve decisions, including using SQL, Python, R, or other programs to gather, clean, analyze, model, and report data.
- Be unafraid to break existing rules, reimagine new processes, and build them. Enhance our automated monitoring systems, and create better visualization frameworks to increase the accessibility of our data.
- Oversee projects end-to-end, including finding the requirements, measuring the root-cause, communicating findings, and implementing solutions.
- Partner and manage the relationship with a part of the business, including ensuring correct requirement gathering, overseeing all the analyses, projects, and output, and ensuring clear expectations in timelines and deliverables.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, or computer science.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in an analytics role
- High proficiency in SQL - able to create efficient and complex queries and quality check other's work.
- Experience managing a team, with the ability to inspire others and develop employees.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Periscope, Tableau and interest or knowledge of Python, R, and similar languages
- Experience translating data analysis into action and explaining those to experts and non-experts.
- Experience partnering with a segment of the business and owning the full BI work to support the team's work and our mission
