The Role

Paro is seeking a highly motivated Cloud Data Architect to join our team. 

As the Cloud Data Architect at Paro you will lead the technical implementation, and maintenance of Paro’s next generation cloud data infrastructure which currently powers our analytics platforms and our AI/ML solutions. You will be crafting cloud data usage patterns with a strong focus on microservices and help develop frameworks to productize our ML/AI solutions. The ideal candidate is results-driven, able to break down complex problems and always strives to innovate. 



Who you are

  • You have 5+ years of recent experience with ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing, and Reporting/Analytics. Having a STEM related degree is a plus 
  • You enjoy collaborating with empowered product teams in a fast paced, ambiguous, innovative, & agile environment
  • You're an expert with RDBMS, OLAP, and non-relational database systems (Aurora, Postgres, Mysql, Snowflake, Redis, DynamoDB, & MongoDB for example) 
  • You're a knowledge hub for industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • You present the ability to constantly learn, understand the data content other product areas produce, and give your point of view on how best to expose data to internal and external users
  • Other additional relevant experience to have includes:
  • Proficiency with AWS cloud native applications (API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, Glue, SageMaker, SNS, CloudFront, VPC, RDS, for example).
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code automation tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, for example) preferred
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) 
  • Experience in SRE or DevOps approaches (Nice to have)

What you will do 

  • Design data models based on reporting, analytics, data science requirements and visualization needs in Looker.
  • Review and provide feedback for all load processes including the use of third-party ELT tools (FiveTran, Apache Airflow)
  • Collaborate on the development of our ML/AI productization lifecycle 
  • Manage data architecture for Snowflake and our platform application databases
  • Work collaboratively to implement architectural improvements and engineering platform processes
  • Establish and contribute to documentation
  • Provide guidance for new application features
  • Work with team members located in different time zones (US, Europe, & India)
