Credit Strategy Analyst 

The Role

Future Finance is searching for a strong Credit Strategy Analyst to join our growing Credit team in Chicago. This role will be working on managing the credit underwriting criteria and developing new strategy to minimize risk and optimize profitability for the company’s core product: student loans. We are looking for someone with 3+ years experience, who has a deep understanding of business needs as well as expertise in analytics and strategic thinking. 

This position will report directly to the Chief Credit Officer.

Your Responsibilities

Primary duties may include are but are not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing underwriting strategies including credit, affordability and pricing

  • Using visualization tools to build dashboards and monitor key performance indicators

  • Initiating and executing credit strategy tests, for example, to identify new market segments or validate hypotheses on price sensitivity

  • Collaborating with cross-functional business partners on new initiatives, project requests, prioritization and delivery

  • Communicating strategies/proposals/solutions to key stakeholders

Your Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills with key attention to detail

  • Proficiency in analytical methods like segmentation, predictive modeling and hypothesis testing

  • Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques, especially credit scorecard model development

  • Advanced knowledge of data extraction and manipulation using SQL, Excel and other reporting software

  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Masters+ degree in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related quantitative disciplines; or bachelor's degree from a top university.

  • Experience working in financial services (or even better, fintech) industry

  • Ideally, experience in a start-up environment
