Database Engineer

Database Engineer will be responsible for the design and delivery our data platform utilizing next generation big data technologies. You will be responsible for the execution of our data strategy through design and development of Data Warehouse platform to deliver Reporting, BI and Analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Key responsibility is to design and develop data platform including the architecture, prototyping and development of data extract, transformation, cleansing and integration of structured and non-structured data
• Provide technical expertise to design efficient solutions integrating data from next generation SQL and NOSQL database systems through ETL processes
• Develop optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed data deployments and making recommendations to optimize performance
• Implement methodology, tools and processes that follow efficient techniques and development that meet and exceed the intent of the data solution
• Design and develop database and application interfaces between various internal and external systems to efficiently and effective capture and integrate data
• Organize, optimize and debug data-driven reporting, BI and analytics applications
• Design logical and physical database design; develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes and solutions
• Develop, maintain and document data model, data dictionary and data flow diagrams
• Document database development guidelines, standards, and performance reviews
• *This is not a Database Administrator (DBA) role. 

Ideally, We’d Like You to Have:

• 5+ years experience with design, development of data solutions
• Hand-on experience with data architecture, design and development of big data platforms
• Extensive technical experience with SQL and NOSQL databases, schema definitions, data modeling and design
• Strong analytics skills with ability to synthesize data to design and deliver meaningful solutions
• Experience implementing Reporting, BI, Visualization and Analytics tools
• High level knowledge of database performance and tuning, troubleshooting and query optimization and tuning
• Familiar with next generation tools and frameworks that enable capabilities within the data ecosystem
• Ability to understand business functionality, processes and flows
• Good combination of technical and interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented with the ability to work independently

Education Qualification:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Data Science/Information Systems
