Qualifications:• More than 5 years of experience in Database administration• Solid understanding of Database technology• Database performance tuning experience• Deep knowledge of industry-standard, enterprise-class best practices for a large database environment• Good understanding of AIX, Linux and Intel platforms• Deep understanding of HADR Database and storage technologies like Data replication, TSM, etc• Experience implementing, supporting and auditing database security• Experience with Unix/Linux OS platform and Unix Shell scripting and automation
Secondary Skills:
Experience in cloud migrations and support, particularly GCP. AWS is also a bonus• Experience with installing, upgrading, configuring, integrating, tuning, and securing DB2 LUW instances in an AIX environment• Experience with database management tools, products, vendors, and methodologies• Knowledge of database object design, stored procedures, UNIX scripting• Knowledge of Unix operating systems, DB2 LUW transaction log management, TSM backup strategies, and security configuration using LDAP• Knowledge of administering advanced DB2 database functions including High Availability (HADR) and Q-Replication• Knowledge of DB2 Connect/RTCL (thin clients)• Base knowledge of TSA-MP• Works efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce high quality material with meticulous attention to detail• Strong customer service orientation in both internal and external interactions, and looks for opportunities to provide the highest quality service• Builds methods for measuring effectiveness of processes to meet business objectives• Manages appropriate metrics to measure process towards meeting quality standards for corporation• Anticipates, recognizes and resolves issues• Pro-active monitoring and problem resolution• Evaluates and documents procedures• Strong organizational and analytical skills• Scripting experience• Integrates complex data and synthesize results, evaluates the quality of the data, identifies critical process variables and provides recommendations based on results• High degree of creative thinking• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
