eSourcing Analyst
Grainger is a broad line, business-to-business distributor of maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) supplies and other related products and services. More than 3.2 million businesses and institutions worldwide rely on Grainger for products such as safety gloves, ladders, motors and janitorial supplies, along with services like inventory management and technical support. Primary Function:
The eSourcing Analyst supports the ongoing effort to support the eSourcing Program and it’s users of eRFx tools. This includes, but may not be limited to: user and system support, analytics, strategic sourcing, continuous improvement and relationship management.
The eSourcing Analyst will configure, review and/or monitor simple to complex eSourcing events for Indirect and Direct Procurement, including but not limited to – discovering and defining event requirements; conducting supplier, item and spend analysis; communicate best practices; review events prepared by other users; monitor event progress, status and results; troubleshoot user/system issues.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, configure and/or execute eRFx events within multiple eSourcing applications for direct and indirect spend categories
- Maintain eSourcing templates for the organization to be leveraged across categories
- Coaches others on how to capture lower cost, higher value or shortened cycle times using eSourcing best practices (techniques, approaches, strategies, etc.)
- Assist with the training of suppliers on strategic sourcing tools such as online auctions and/or eRFx
- Manage, track and/or monitor supplier eRFx responses
- Consider cost and non-cost factors to generate total cost comparison models
Preferred Education and Experience:
- BS/BA or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years experience
- Strong project management skills
- Strong technical skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Creative, quality and results-driven
- Working knowledge of category management and procurement processes
- Knowledge of eSourcing tools (RFx and Auction)
- Proficient within Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Conduct eSourcing user training and provide ongoing user support. (i.e. strategy, best practices and/or category knowledge/expertise.)
- Provide technology support as applicable
- Contribute to pipeline development for eSourcing
