Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Development, the Corporate Development Senior Analyst will be a key team member in the development and execution of the company’s corporate development efforts, contributing in the company’s plans for corporate development, M&A, capital markets, and business development activity in alignment with the board, CEO/COO/CFO and the executive team.

Performance Objectives
* Work directly with the Director and VP of Corporate Development in the development of strategic plans and execution of key corporate development initiatives to fuel strategic growth
* Work closely with the Director and VP of Corporate Development to build the processes and analytical framework for analyzing M&A opportunities
* Research and analyze high priority strategic markets for corporate development, including market mapping and deep dives of specific target opportunities; key team member in the analysis of strategic initiatives including identifying areas of M&A focus
* Develop and track detailed competitive landscape in PowerPoint and organized excel tracker
* Work with the Director of Corporate Development to develop business cases for growth opportunities across functional teams; including the development of the build/buy/partner analysis for potential growth categories
* Support the development of investment banking and other industry relationships, in order to actively track the payroll / HCM software space, and to source acquisition opportunities. Track meetings/calls and industry information in detailed tracker 
* Partner with FP&A team to model opportunities and create pro-forma views of acquisition opportunities
* Support all M&A and capital markets deal processes
* Key team member in the execution of all phases of M&A processes from business case creation, to opportunity modeling, to deal execution, to integration
* Work closely with cross functional teams in deal execution and integration (pre-deal analyses, high quality due diligence coordination and execution, integration planning and post-close integration)
* Active team member working with Director and VP of Corporate Development on the analysis of key strategic partners and vendors
* Work closely with finance / G&A team in the analysis of any Paylocity financing activities
* ad hoc analyses and financial modeling
* Attend potential industry events, and Paylocity corporate events
* Excellent written / verbal communication skills, and superior quantitative and analytical skills 
* Strong time management and process planning capabilities
* Independent thinker and self-starter, and must have the bandwidth to multitask 
* Strong work ethic, accustomed to delivering results in a fast-paced environment in a structured and organized manner 
* Excellent cross-functional team participation skills
* Ability to draft management presentations on acquisitions, strategic initiatives, industry segment analysis, and new partner relationships
* Passion for the technology and software industry; technical acumen and understanding of software industry is strongly preferred
* Intelligent, hard-working, ability to understand technical concepts quickly 
* Results-oriented mindset

Experience and Skills:

* An undergraduate degree is required; business, finance or accounting preferred.
* 2+ years of experience in an investment banking role at a recognized investment bank, or transaction services experience at top accounting firms, with significant M&A execution experience. Some public debt/equity financing experience also valuable
* Experience in the software / tech sector is desirable - including a successful and demonstrable track record executing M&A transactions for software / tech companies is strongly preferred
* Advanced knowledge of MS office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
* Outstanding financial and investment analysis skills, oral and written communication skills
* Financial modeling experience building acquisition models, pro-forma financials, growth models, etc. 
* Experience preparing industry/company, strategy, financial, and operational presentations for the board and executive level
* Understanding of the financial and investment markets 
* A highly energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player 
* Highly engaged, hands-on, sleeves rolled up, self-starter
