What you get to do: 

Reporting directly to the CEO with dotted line to CFO, the SVP Strategy and Development will spearhead research and development of potential new strategic initiatives as we grow from an extremely successful online lending marketplace to a multi-billion-dollar global, preeminent financial services platform. This leader will perform deep sectoral analyses across potential businesses and product extensions to recommend build/partner/buy decisions with conviction. Individual will build and lead a dedicated team to generate ideas on future growth initiatives to be delivered in the medium term. This team will lead execution of new strategies which may include the recruiting of talent for new builds, executing partnership agreements, and executing M&A transactions. This position is not for the faint of heart – must be willing to come into work every day to “blank sheets” of paper that morph into core strategic pillars of the firm’s strategy for the next decade. This role will have high Board of Director visibility.

What you will bring to the team:

Ability to dissect vast, complex markets into actionable growth strategies for OppLoans. Leader will meticulously study products and industries to understand what current competitive environment looks like and how OppLoans can bring winning products to its customers. SVP Strategy must be able to take a stand with CEO and Board on what is best for the business. This includes weighing growth, profitability, and risk to properly vet and prioritize potential opportunities. Candidates with deep management consulting or corporate development AND operating backgrounds will be best positioned for success. Creativity in recognizing key market gaps and arbitrage opportunities for OppLoans to exploit is a must. Finally, candidates with a deep network of senior relationships in financial services will have greatest chance of success in the role.
