Digital UX Designer (90-day contract) - Chicago, Illinois

This highly crucial Digital Designer position will take a leading role in craft intuitive, beautiful and functional experiences within our multi-brand $500+ E-Commerce company. We're actively searching for top-level designers to join newly built teams at FTD Companies who will be tasked with building an entirely new state-of-the-art platform and architecture from scratch.

What you Will Contribute:

The ideal candidate is someone well versed in modern multi-device UX Design practices. Practices that extend from wireframes, flow diagrams, and interaction design through visual design execution and creation of design specifications.

This Digital Designer would participate in and help facilitate product design brainstorming and work sessions. You would be crafting visual materials as well as designing user interfaces within the structure of existing Web properties. You will be working with the Site optimization team to interpret test results, incorporate results into design efforts to find opportunities for user research.

• Improve the design and layout of the site and functionality, including search, resulting in a dynamic communication tool.
• Create online social communities for FTD Member Florists to interact with each other and also with FTD.
• Broaden our partnership with Vida18 and utilize their dedicated IT and development resources to enhance and grow the FTD B2B site.
• Position site in-line with FTD creative process and direction.

What we seek:

The project will create an updated, responsive version of FTDi.com that will align the site with all other brandings, print and media already in use and currently being created by FTD. The site will be used as a dynamic communication tool that is easy to use and find information quickly. These are what we are looking for;

• We look for you to have 5+ years (education) or equivalent UX/digital design experience in product, company or agency.
• You are proven in working with Adobe Creative Suite.
• You're experienced with other UX Design software a plus (Omnigraffle, Invision, etc) and hand coding front-end markup (HTML, CSS) a plus.
• The ability to rapid prototype (from paper prototyping to interactive prototypes) a plus.
• Experienced working in and/or basic understanding of a customer-facing business.
• Ability to create interactive forms for inquiries and expanding to include membership applications and other product offering enrollment/signup with the ability to upload signed documentation, images and virtually sign contracts.
