About ThoughtWorks
We are a global software consultancy and a community of passionate, purpose-led individuals. We think disruptively to deliver technology to address our clients' toughest challenges, all while seeking to revolutionize the IT industry and create positive social change.

Designers at ThoughtWorks work collaboratively on project teams to deliver the highest quality bespoke software. We routinely take on the most challenging problems our clients have, providing opportunities for designers to take their existing skills to a much higher level. We pride ourselves on a working culture that puts teamwork and diversity first, as well as providing an innovative community of practice to support continuous professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Work iteratively on a cross-functional team with Developers, Analysts & Product Owners to deliver new products to market.
  • Advocate passionately for the end user.
  • Help the client understand the business value of end-user perspectives and Lean UX.
  • Think through hard problems, and work with a team to make them a reality.
  • Develop your career outside of the confinement of a traditional career path by focusing on what you’re passionate about rather than a predetermined one-size-fits-all plan.
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, transparent, non-hierarchical, and ego-free culture where your talent is valued over a role title.

Requirements:

  • Ability to create rapid, iterative, low- and mid-fi prototypes.
  • Knowledge of tools and concepts applied to all stages of product design.
  • Qualitative research experience, including task analysis, target market, and user segmentation.
  • Experience setting up and running formal and informal usability testing.
  • Strong business acumen: the ability to relate, understand, grasp concepts, and interpret client/user needs.
  • A good theoretical and practical grasp of interaction design issues, the continually evolving vocabulary of interaction and UI design, and an ability to explain this simply to others.
  • Experience in mentoring and executing Agile, Lean, and Continuous Delivery best practices.
  • Active participation in the UX community.

Perks:

  • Exposure to a huge variety of client engagements. You could be influencing the digital strategy of a retail giant, building a new mobile application for a bank or redesigning platforms using event sourcing & intelligent data pipelines. You’ll use the latest Lean & Agile thinking, solve critical problems and challenge yourself every day.
  • Allowances for books, conferences & training, cell phone, local transit, and high-speed internet
  • Personal development programs and training tailored to the career path that you choose
  • Opportunities for global assignments/travel
  • Internal conferences and community events
