Junior Designer
StratEx is a ground-breaking tech company that offers a variety of HR and Payroll solutions to help empower restaurant/hospitality businesses by simplifying and streamlining their internal processes. The foundation on which we base our wide range of services is our proprietary HRIS software, eStratEx.
In the Junior Designer role at StratEx, you will work with a variety of teams to help design meaningful and strategic updates to our HRIS platform and have the unique opportunity to join a brand new team-- influencing the design practice and product vision at StratEx. Essential Functions, Principal Duties, and Responsibilities include but are not limited to*:
- Work with Product Design Manager to design new system features
- Create and deliver wireframes/mockups/prototypes and specifications to Product Manager and Development
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from internal reviews
- Review projects during the design review phase of Development sprints
- Work with Product Design Manager to create StratEx’s design system (i.e. taking stock of components in eStratEx)
- Communicate clearly and professionally with management and peers, both in writing and verbally
- Full, regular and predictable attendance
Minimum requirements:
- Required
- College Degree (preferably journalism, psychology, sociology, communication or other liberal arts degree)
- 0-1 years of design experience
- Fluent in English
- Preferred
- Restaurant experience
- Qualitative research/ethnography experience
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS or other programming experience
- Sketch or other design software experience
- Adaptable and open-minded outlook on learning/improving one’s own skill set

Physical requirements:
- Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time while working
- Must be able to proficiently operate a computer/VOIP as means of regular communication and day to day work
- Must be able to occasionally travel to on-site meetings on a local and national scale
- Must be able to clearly present material to groups of people either in person or via electronic means of communication
