JOB PURPOSE:
As a Lead UX/UI Designer, this position will be a major contributor to the development and optimization of our dealer facing application space. You will be expected to design frictionless experiences for our dealers that will allow them to manage and monitor assets on behalf of customers.
This position will be responsible for facilitating, generating, and executing great user experiences for our dealers and their end users. This position will work with other designers, product leaders, and developers translating user needs to build the heuristic user experience strategy by applying human-centered design best practices. This position must have strong experience delivering strategic digital capabilities across various digital channels.
JOB DUTIES:
- Partner with Product and Development leaders to integrate roadmaps with application to drive towards common, unified experiences.
- Have the ability to create polished, production-ready UI designs.
- Possess the ability to conceptualize and communicate design ideas to stakeholders of all levels within an organization.
- Have the ability to create wireframes, user flows, visual design assets, and interactive prototypes/high fidelity mockups.
- Understand of overall customer needs and ability have a holistic view of design and user experience; ability to deliver on short-term needs that fit into long-term vision.
- Familiar with design sprints and the agile methodology.
- Have the ability to actively and constantly collaborate with other employees including product owners, designers, web and mobile engineers, quality-assurance engineers, leadership, and more.
- Ability to navigate large complex projects to know when to be tactical vs executing design workshops to bring out best overall experience.
- Comfortable creating journey maps, user flows, and personas when needed.
- Work and at times lead cross-functional teams to drive customer experience strategy and best practices to implement applications and platforms while maintaining a cohesive end-to-end experience
- Will provide thought leadership across UX community and within product team.
- Competent to perform all UX architecture, and interface design deliverables, project management for design, and UX assignments without close supervision.
- Mentor and assist other UX/UI designers, providing design and architecture direction as needed.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
- Requires a four year college degree in User Experience, Interaction, Graphic, Industrial, New Media or related Design. HCI (Human Computer Interaction), human factors/ergonomics or a related field. Open to consider different educational background based on professional experiences.
- 5-8 years of experience designing digital products on a variety of platforms, including web and mobile (iOS and Android).
- Exceptional design skills, production value, and attention to detail are required.
- Requires proficiency with Figma, Miro, and other associated design tools.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in Interaction Architecture, UI/UX design, Customer Experience and/or User Experience is desired.
- Requires ability to listen to customers and stakeholders to visually design new products and features.
- Desirable is a results driven self-starter with a unique combination of technical knowledge, business acumen, and strong emotional intelligence.
- Desirable is deep knowledge of UX industry standards, usability, and design trends.
- Experience working with data visualization, IOT, new mobile technologies, virtual, augmented, and mixed reality.
The preferred location is Peoria, IL, Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, or Dallas, TX, but remote work within the United States is available for the right candidate.

Summary Pay Range: $118,000 - $177,948
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
