Title: Senior Associate, Learning Design
Role Description:
The Senior Associate, Learning Design is accountable for designing and developing a wide range of engaging and effective learning solutions, using a variety of learning modalities. This role will work to develop new courses and programs, redesign existing programs, and create all relevant learning materials. The Senior Associate, Learning Design will build solutions across a variety of subject domains (e.g., onboarding, management & leadership skills, functional knowledge) that support Oakies as they orient to the organization, build core role proficiency, and advance their careers.
Core Responsibilities:

  • Use source materials and interviews with subject matter experts to capture relevant information for learning solution development across a range of topics
  • Applying adult learning principles and best practices for innovative and engaging learning, and recommend design approaches and interactions that effectively support specific performance objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, subject matter experts, internal teams and external vendors to understand performance needs and develop engaging and efficacious content
  • Write, edit and manage content development at all stages of the development lifecycle, ensuring quality standards and timelines are met
  • Leverage common online content development tools (e.g., Articulate Rise and/or Storyboard) as needed to produce interactive, on-demand assets
  • Collaborating with our design team, you may help guide the production of graphic and video assets that are part of the learning experience
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding course design elements, goals, deadlines, and objectives
  • Collaborate to identify and resolve issues, risks and quality challenges
  • Contribute to user testing as well as designing and developing program communications and impact assessment plans
  • Other duties as assigned.


This role reports to the Senior Director of Learning Enablement and has the opportunity for advancement and growth of responsibility.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for motivated individuals with:

  • University degree required, preferably in instructional/learning design, human resources development, educational technology, communications or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in instructional content development in a technology-enabled environment
  • Demonstrated experience designing and/or developing a variety of adult learning programs such as digital, classroom, blended, simulation, etc.
  • Knowledge of current adult learning concepts, techniques, frameworks, methodologies and tools
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including editing, with ability to synthesize information and translate into poignant and digestible learning interventions
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Critical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly motivated and organized with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under time constraints
  • Must be open-minded and be able to adapt to a fast paced, changing environment
  • US work authorization
