SPINS is seeking a dynamic UI/UX Product Designer to join our SPINS design team.

What you will do.

Join our mission to increase the presence and accessibility of natural and organic products to encourage healthier living. As our UI/UX Product Designer you will take on an essential role to change an habitual industry and bring new data driven solutions to our ecosystem made up of Retailers, Brand, Distributors and Consumers. We equip you with SPINS’ industry-leading proprietary data and analytics. You will work in a highly agile and collaborative environment to support our product teams through a variety of research methods and a customer-included design process. You take on the challenge of taking an idea from concept to high-fidelity UI design and enjoy shaping and contributing to a growing component library. What will the job entail:

  • Discover and understand customer behavior by utilizing a robust toolbox of qualitative research methods to uncover pain points in users’ workflows.
  • Engage with internal stakeholder to understand business goals and growth opportunities.
  • Synthesize customer feedback to support the delivery of exceptional user experiences.
  • Communicate learnings clearly and concise to stakeholders and product teams.
  • Relentlessly pursuit impactful solutions that solve the right customer problem.
  • Utilize intelligent and creative design practices to deliver high-impact products for use of large quantities of data, through a fresh, simple and intuitive experience for users.
  • Work in an agile environment that intersects with lean product development processes and user-centric design methodologies.
  • Project related travel may be required.

Collaborate, Concepting, Wireframing & Aligning Expectations

  • Collaborate with product teams to collect user feedback in iterative user feedback sessions, ensuring the design is continuously meeting our customers’ needs.
  • Communicate design concept through different levels of fidelity, from ideation to final design implementation.
  • Wireframe thoughtful approaches to data storytelling and complex content interpretation
  • Establish A&B testing scenarios when applicable to generate the greatest insight in how to further optimize experiences around a user’s most organic behaviors

Presentation, Polish & Go-To-Market

  • Creation of design concepts in various levels of fidelity
  • Presentation of design to product and client-facing teams to encourage feedback to further refine the approach and account for final opportunities for improvements prior to development
  • Collaborating with product QA team throughout the product development process to ensure designs are properly translating through the various phases of the development process all the way through new product launches
  • Collaborating with the marketing team on bring out the best design components of new products or features that can be incorporated into client communications

What you bring.

While your talent and experience matters most, we have to mention these qualifications matter to us:

  • 6+ years prior experience with minimum of 5 years in UI/UX
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, a related subject or equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of human factors in design
  • Conversant in front-end technologies: CSS & HTML
  • Experience in practicing a user-centered design approach to software products
  • Outstanding project management, organization, communication and team building skills
  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles and best practices
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment
  • Experience in data visualization design
  • Experience bringing a new product to market

We’re even more impressed if you:

  • Graduate degree in Design, HCI, a related subject, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong proficiency with data-driven product design & software
  • Experience designing and conducting user studies and usability testing
  • Work experience with another data visualization software or web-based product company
  • Experience with user interviewing and usability testing
  • Excited by the challenge to delight users with new features they didn’t expect
  • Are obsessed with delivering the most amount of value to an end user, requiring the least amount of their effort
