OK, so where do you fit in?
At Eight Bit Studios our Visual Designers collaborate with our UX Strategists to transform complex business challenges into useable, impactful, inclusive products for mobile and web. We are looking for an open minded innovator and leader who is confident in taking the lead on UI design efforts - taking it from a high level vision all the way through to execution. You will go all-in and own the visual design, UI, prototypes and the delivery of fully designed products that will make people feel good.
At your core, you will have a passion for design, a curiosity for how the world works, and an empathetic understanding of what makes the best experiences the best. To get it done, you need to have a gut level understanding of the ‘why’ behind what makes a design good or bad and be able to confidently think through user problems, find reasonable solutions, mock them up in detail, and then collaborate with the team to build them. You will bring your full toolkit of design expertise - interaction design, branding, and visual design - as you work across multiple client projects and teams at the same time. You will need to feel confident working independently, but also like feedback and naturally do your best work when you are collaborating with the team.
Now here’s what you need for the role:
7+ years experience as a visual designer on digital products working in cross-disciplinary teams and playing a lead role on native projects from start to finish.
A strong familiarity with various process methodologies - agile, design thinking, and design sprints are all in play here
A real-deal history of designing native mobile apps from concept through prototyping and collaborating with engineers to bring your designs to life.
The chops to mock-up animated interfaces using Principle, After Effects, or similar motion tools.
An understanding of the technical limitations and liberties behind your decisions and the tools to communicate your ideas to the team
The ability to connect with, present to, and work comfortably alongside our client partners
The know-how to build a brand from the ground up and implement into a user-experience or the interface design of an app (brand systems, style guides, marketing materials, websites, etc)
