Excited to change the face of Enterprise retailers and brands for Groupon?

Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. If you want to take more ownership of your career, then you're ready to be part of Groupon.

Excited to shape the visual style of content marketing for Groupon Coupons? To work on high-visibility PR and marketing campaigns and help steer the brand’s aesthetic identity?  This is exactly what design for Groupon Coupons does. We cultivate deep empathy and engagement for our customers, and translate this understanding into inventive, effective and delightful visual stories that cross channels and devices (email, web, mobile, social and tablet). And, as part of our growing team, you’ll play a pivotal role in building the brand.

Experience working with international design departments and integrating design guidelines across departments, platforms, and teams will be key in this role.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

Responsibilities:

  • Graphic Design for all digital content marketing on Groupon Coupons, where attention to detail and love for craftsmanship is celebrated. You avoid derivative solutions, you are not happy being me-too, you push the envelope. You think systems (not one-offs). Your work is modular, scalable. You wield both the art and science of design into exceptional content marketing that drives actionable results.

  • Conceptualize the visual components of PR campaigns alongside Inbound Content Marketing Executive and team of writers.

  • Develop and maintain visual standards across our content marketing platform.

  • Work as part of the Content Marketing team to support Sales, Merchandising, and Ops and create persuasive, professional marketing materials.

  • Sketching, concept generation, and other ideation exercises to push the boundaries of the content we provide to our customers and merchant partners.

  • Craft concepts for content marketing to include  infographics, landing page templates, and interactive content that delivers against clear KPIs including bounce rate and engagement

  • Develop templates for reporting and presenting proposals to large merchant partners

  • Contribute ideas to improve existing products, both in and outside personal expertise

Requirements:

  • First and foremost, applicants should be awesome, empathetic design thinkers who can engage in an end-to-end experience, from vision to production

  • At least 2 years experience as a graphic designer within a marketing or agency environment

  • Strong portfolio featuring examples of both graphic design and data-visualization work. Any experience with infographics and illustration should be highlighted

  • A strong, clean visual design sense, valuing innovation, beautiful simplicity, and smart consistency

  • Expertise on the whole Adobe suite is assumed… but any skills on Framer, Sketch, Mirror and other prototyping tools will be something we look for.

  • Great design communication skills; able to tell the story of a design from end to end

  • Solid grounding in fundamentals of typography, color, layout, content hierarchy

  • Ability to set (and/or follow) style guides and best practices when designing for new platforms

  • Proven experience designing content for the modern, responsive web

  • Comfort working in fast-moving, agile development environments with sometimes ambiguous and changing goals

  • Healthy sense of humor (see point above)

  • Ability to integrate high-level marketing and user experience into design aesthetic

  • A link to personal website or web portfolio

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the technologies that you’re designing for is preferred

  • Experience with versioning, SVN, or preferably Git, is nice, but not required

  • Experience with e-commerce and local business is great

  • Familiarity with quantitative testing methodologies: A/B testing, log analysis, and other forms of data-driven design is nice, but not required
