Bswift, a leader in cloud-based technology and services for employee benefits and health exchanges, is currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer. Become an active member of a Systems Engineering team that loves to automate, secure, and learn about any technology it can get its hands on! We are a team of generalists with strong backgrounds and varying expertise across all parts of the stack. In this role you will help design, plan, implement and manage the core infrastructure technology that runs our raving application and software.

Fundamental Components

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·Architect, Design and Implement new solutions to provide highly available and scalable environments to support the demands of today’s business growth

·Drive technical design and execution activities for moving existing on-premise infrastructure, server workloads, data and applications to the cloud (AWS)

·Ensure servers and applications are compliant with established standards, policies, and configurations

·Create and maintain technical documentation regarding design documents, operational drawings/guides

·Serve as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of one or more of our Internet facing services

·Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant growth

·Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor custom applications in a Windows/Linux environment

·Work closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with "operability" in mind

·Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment, while having fun with your co-workers

·Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation with other team members for urgent incident response

Qualifications required
 

·Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent work experience and/or certificate program participation will be considered on an individual basis

·5+ years of experience managing both hardware and software in Windows environments 
 

·2+ years of hands-on experience engineering, deploying and managing cloud solutions on AWS

·2+ years of experience setting up and managing Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server

·Familiarity with hybrid cloud management products and solutions

·Experience supporting, administering and using additional platforms such as VMWare, SharePoint, PRTG, AppDynamics

·Experience managing crisis situations to resolution, and reporting on cause, action, results, and future mitigation plans

·Experience with devops and application lifecycle management

·Experienced in configuring, hardening, troubleshooting, and administering Windows/Linux based applications and operating systems

·Experience managing networking equipment like switches, firewalls, load balancers and others

·Exposure to the .NET programming language or debugging compiled .NET code a Plus

·Exposure to deployment management technologies like Puppet, Chef a Plus

·Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment with other engineers, Product Managers, etc.

Education 
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
