Job Description
GoHealth is looking for a Data Scientist, Customer Retention to join its Strategic Analytics Center of Excellence. This data scientist will be responsible for using advanced analytics and modeling to provide senior business leaders with actionable insights that drive strategic initiatives and create enterprise value, specifically through improving management and retention of customers after point of sale. Due to the dynamic nature of this role, we are seeking candidates with a problem-solving mentality and the ability to build analytical insights for a wide-range of business contexts.
- Use statistical modeling and advanced analytical tools to perform prescriptive and predictive analytics that help optimize GoHealth's processes and improve its key performance metrics
- Collaborate with business leaders to analyze problems, optimize processes, and build presentations making your results intelligible to any stakeholder in the company
- Become an expert in the customer's experience after they purchase an insurance coverage plan, both before and during their enrollment in the plan
- Understand GoHealth’s business processes, including the role that each business unit plays in supporting the company’s ultimate objectives
- Continually think of new ways in which data-based insights can help support GoHealth’s processes and improve customer satisfaction
- Deliver on ad-hoc data requests from business users while identifying ways to reduce these requests with reports and dashboards
- Create and improve critical reports for a range of business divisions
- Build interactive dashboards intuitive enough for business users but flexible enough to serve multiple needs
- Compile complex data sets from a variety of sources
- Identify additional data sets that can drive strategy, improve decision making, and automate processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Math, Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics or another quantitatively focused field
- 3+ years in an analytics focused role and/or an advanced degree in one of the above
- Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex joins and conditional statements
- Proven ability to create easily interpretable visualizations with tools such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Plotly, Matplotlib, and/or Ggplot
- Proven ability to build reports in tools such as SSRS, Tableau, Power BI, and/or packages in Python or R
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling and the ability to apply each model appropriately within a business context
- Experience working with statistical/machine learning packages in Python, R, SAS, and/or Julia
- Experience performing analytics in a business and/or healthcare environment, preferably with some degree of focus on customer experience
- Proven ability to take insights and turn them into actionable steps that can drive business value
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to colleagues with varying degrees of analytical knowledge
- Desire to improve upon current skills and learn new ones
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Ability to work independently with limited oversight
