Overview of the role
We’re looking to hire a Data Architect to help guide the data architecture of our 50-person engineering organization. You’ll work with a small team of architects who are embedded on scrum teams across the organization while reporting directly to the VP of Engineering.
As a Data Architect, you will
- Provide guidance and support to the engineering organization
- Help set the direction for data architecture within the organization
- Mentor senior engineers
- Help create and prioritize the technology backlog as it relates to data needs across the organization
- Work with the engineering and product leadership to evaluate data technology needs in accordance with product strategy and define a technology roadmap
Specifics about the role and other things you will need
- Minimum 7 years of Object Oriented, Data-Driven Software Application Development, full stack development or similar experience required
- Minimum of 5 years focused on data architectures and API development
- Experience in backend technologies such as Node, Ruby on Rails, or similar
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational data stores such as Postgres and MongoDB
- Experience with data optimization and scaling data architectures in support of SaaS applications
- Experience with data pipelines preferred
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must have strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills
