Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a “builder” – someone with strong analytical skills and the ability and desire to implement a world-class software development automation strategy. We need someone with a willingness to learn and grow their skill set and be comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment. Interpersonal skills a must as this person must interact with a wide range of disciplines within the organization

  • Lead the organization with the relentless pursuit of completely automated software installation to multiple environments that include local on-premises instances, AWS configurations, and many thousands of remote, embedded IoT systems.
  • Architect, implement, and continuously improve our overarching CI/CD strategy that includes source code control, build pipelines, test automation, deployments, and the management of our documentation and process assets
  • Document and train teams on new tools, processes and procedures
  • Design and implement the tools and metrics that perform regular health checks and analyses on production platforms looking for potential problems before they trigger business-impacting issues
  • Design and deploy metrics that measure efficiency and help lead the way to future improvements.
  • Identify root causes of build and deployment related issues in staging and production for systemic or individual failures
  • Help stabilize new products from Pilot/Beta into full Production
  • Drive process and behavior changes into the development environment by giving insights from technical/operational issues of previous product release deployments
  • Stay on top of new products, processes and workflows as they are introduced and drive the development organization to new levels of efficiency through the integration of relevant new tools and techniques
  • Assist in support hours of operation and off-hour production emergencies

What will you need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent DevOps Experience
  • 3-5 years' demonstrated proficiency in building automated pipelines and experience with multiple tools and technologies including:
    • TFS Release Management, Jenkins, Gradle, Artifactory, Kubernetes, Docker, Puppet
    • Virtualization technologies such as Docker, VMware, Hyper-V
    • Source Control – Git, TFVC
    • SQL and NoSQL databases
    • Software languages, environments, and interface standards such as C#, C++, .NET, JavaScript, Node.JS, HTML, XML, JSON, REST
    • Scripting – PowerShell, Bash, Python
    • Windows and Linux Operating Systems
  • Experience with supporting production software systems with goals of maintaining uptime, performance, and customer satisfaction, and focus on improving the planning of test and deployment.
  • Conspicuous attention to detail, organization, with the ability to work independently while taking the initiative to perform effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
