The Role

You’ll lead a global team supporting multiple SaaS environments that help make the world a safer place.  We use Azure as our core, but host on multiple platforms due to specific needs and our rapid pace of development and acquisition.  The environment is rapidly changing from IaaS to PaaS to serverless.  So you’ll need to both apply your current skillsets and learn new things on a daily basis to push the business forward. 

Job Duties:

• Build and lead a global team of engineers through coaching and hands-on technical development.

• Drive innovation throughout the team and constantly challenge them to raise the bar in providing solutions that increase overall business velocity. 

• Partner with engineering team and product owners to establish development and operational strategy and then deliver against those expectations.

• Drive process for the DevOps team with a model of continuous improvement

• Create an environment of transparency and accountability by establishing reasonable expectations and providing consistent reporting to stakeholders.

• Optimize tooling for the Development and Ops teams to improve efficiency, velocity, and stability.
• Define and monitor key metrics to ensure efficiency and reliability across all systems.

• Manage change and promote adaptability for team members. 

• Establish yourself as a subject matter expert, providing hands on support and escalation for Engineering and DevOps team members.

Essential skills:

Strong problem-solving skills

Hands-on expertise with CI/CD

Advanced coding/scripting skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with multiple disciplines

Solid foundation in either IT or Software Engineering

Extensive experience with Azure, AWS, or GC.  Azure preferred.

Git, Jenkins, Octopus, ARM,

Ansible, Azure CLI or similar

Preferred skills:

Containers/Kubernetes

Cloud-based networking (VNets, App gateways, etc)

System and Network Engineering Monitoring (New Relic, LogEntries, Rapid7, etc)

PaaS (WebApps, Azure SQL, etc)
