We are seeking an engineering leader who will lead development on our revenue and subscription systems and products, as well as lead our office in Chicago. As the founding hire for Chicago, you will be responsible for creating a team that values ownership, camaraderie, execution, and inclusivity. The systems, integrations, and experiments your team will build will have a direct impact on our creators’ experience, as well as the top and bottom line on our company performance. 

The day-to-day

• Build, mentor, and coach a cross-disciplinary Engineering team with continuous feedback, clarity, and empathy
• Build and maintain systems, technologies, and documentation to catalyze our company’s continued, fast-paced growth
• Collaborate with teams in Engineering, Product, Design, Finance, and Marketing to drive our business forward
• Manage multiple project timelines and deliverables at a leadership level and within the engineering team, in the Chicago office as well as with our office in Oakland
• Lead and represent our Chicago office with humility and pride - from team-building to cascading communication to close involvement in location-specific office affairs, your impact will be company-wide 

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading teams that build products at scale; experience on a large scale consumer app is preferred, but not a requirement
• Strong communication skills, with an empathetic, collaborative, and growth mindset
• Practiced in experimentation; we leverage data to guide our decision making, and constantly run experiments across all parts of our stack
• Experience coaching managers and teams in building high-quality products at scale; your team will build products from scratch, as well as adapt and maintain our current products
• Experience scaling teams working across multiple locations, and guiding career development for engineers, and engineering managers
• Must play nicely with others, we build together, as one team

Nice to have

• A deep appreciation for photography, video and/or other aspects of the arts would be greatly valued
