Director of Software Quality Assurance

We are looking for a Director of Software QA that is passionate about building high-quality software to become an integral part of our team. The ideal candidate is a player-coach who is able to balance daily operations with forward looking software test strategy.  The Director of Software QA will be responsible for leading the QA team through daily activities to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of web products and mobile apps as well as develop team processes and procedures for growth and efficiency.  

Responsibilities:

• Devise and implement test strategies that adequately assess all software aspects
• Identify and implement tools and methodologies to ensure that software tests identify defects and comply with quality standards
• Oversee development and implementation of test plans and test scripts
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies including User Story Grooming, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Daily Stand-ups and Retrospectives
• Manage test assignments across multiple teams for web, Android and iOS and prevent/eliminate barriers to daily task completion
• Formulate strategy and transition plan to move from manual testing to automated testing and increase test coverage over time
• Identify adequate tools for test automation and build team capabilities through training and hiring
• Provide support for production-level troubleshooting and client configurations
• Effectively interface with product, engineering, and customer support teams and ensure an adequate level of cross-team communication and synergy
• Responsible for resource planning, goal setting, performance management, and professional development of the staff

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or related fields
• 3+ years of supervisory experience managing a QA team
• Expert in software test methodologies, test automation, tools and industry trends
• Experience with introducing test automation methodologies and maturing QA practices
• Experience with SaaS web and mobile products
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced environment
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication, and presentation skills
• Extreme attention to detail and an eye for quality
