The Role: We are seeking a full time Electrical/Electronics Applications Engineer who will be responsible for extending the TanvasTouch electronics platform to other products and customers. He/She will implement and support new board designs and will gather and integrate customer electrical specifications and feedback. Responsibilities include:
- Design and delivery of electronic control boards that are tailored to new custom TanvasTouch panels.
- Prototyping and testing new circuit designs or modifications to TanvasTouch electronics architecture in order to meet new customer specs.
- Working with mechanical and firmware engineering teams to deliver new TanvasTouch enabled hardware platforms, specifically tablet or automotive platforms.
- Communication of the TanvasTouch electronics architecture with outside customers.
The Candidate:
- BSEE or BSCE minimum + 3-5 years’ experience in hands-on electrical engineering
- ECAD: experienced with all stages of PCBA design, manufacture, assembly, and test. This includes schematic capture, BOM creation, and layout. Autodesk Eagle familiarity is a plus.
- Capable of understanding and testing to various EMC, EMI, ESD, safety, power, environmental, and other reliability specifications. Regulatory compliance testing experience a strong plus.
- Basic understanding of embedded analog and digital circuits including multiplexing, analog to digital conversion, digital communications, line drivers, boost conversion and power regulation, USB communication, microcontroller interfacing.
- Instrumentation and measurement capability: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, differential probing, and other high voltage or less common probing techniques.
- Comfort with functional prototyping, proof of concept, or designing for production.
- Familiarity with capacitive sensing and digital signal processing is a plus, especially any background in multi-touch panels.
