Electronics Technician

RF IDeas Inc is currently seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join their team in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Job Description

• Provide technical support to the manufacturing organization to drive root cause analysis, documentation, repair/rework, assembly procedures, on-going quality and efficiencies, success of new product introductions, and prototype production.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis on field return units.
• Product ‘modification’ (modifying existing products to other existing products).
• Validation of new production test applications.
• Participate in yield improvement team efforts.
• Execute manufacturing process improvement experiments.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing and production problems
• Create and update Work Instructions.
• First article inspections.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Infrequent travel may be required, both domestic and international

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience in electronics, manufacturing or related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience troubleshooting to component level, repairing, testing, and hand-soldering SMT and through hole Components.
• Experience using multimeter, oscilloscopes, reading schematics and components specs.

Abilities and Skills:

• Working knowledge of PC, wireless, networking, and LAN/WAN technologies
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software malfunctions
• Experience analyzing and diagnosing electronics required
• Experience analyzing and diagnosing RF preferred
• Experience analyzing and diagnosing assembly issues required
• Proficiency with client server applications including MS Windows, MS Office, Exchange/Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• The ability to multi-task, prioritize, document and respond to high-volume inquiries from customers’ world-wide
• Analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment
