Your role in helping us shape the future:

As a Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in Developing & Designing services for Intelsat Airborne products for both In Flight Connectivity and Entertainment. You will design, develop and deploy client and server applications to provide services to our customers, airborne products, and internal stakeholders. You should have the desire to support the development of complex systems from concept and throughout the system’s lifecycle. Additionally, you will work with the latest cloud technologies.

• Demonstrate team building and troubleshooting skills while interfacing closely with Quality Engineering, Front End Development and other cross-functional teams.
• Provide a proactive attitude identifying and resolving new development and system integration issues
• As a full stack engineer on an agile team you should enjoy working on different projects and technologies, across teams, and using the latest languages and tools.

Can you drive these processes?

• Contribute to process improvements, including researching and introducing new development tools.
• Participate in implementation of best practices for application design/development
• Strong SCRUM/Agile work ethic – Ability to contribute productively to a fast-paced development team, delivering demonstrable code in 2-week sprints.
• Contribute to a healthy and collaborative development team with a committed work ethic.

You should definitely have:

• Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science or related area.
• One (1) years industry professional experience (Higher/Lower considered based on qualifications).
• Strong Core JAVA Skills, Microservices, Rest API, Spring, Hibernate and Web sockets.
• Experience with Front End or Native Mobile environments such as React, iOS, Android.
• Solid experience with SQL/NoSQL and cloud-based technologies. 
• Experience in building highly scalable distributed systems.
• Experience in Unit testing and TDD best practices.

It would be nice if you had:

• Knowledge of audio and video processing for web and/or native applications.
• Build traditional and serverless applications on an AWS Platform including EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Hands on experience with tools like Selenium and TestNG frameworks for Webapps, Native & Hybrid mobile applications.
• Knowledge on scripting languages such as Python or Ruby
• Knowledge of server side technologies such as Node JS, or GoLang.
• Good understanding of relational databases with some experience with SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with any third-party cloud-based environments such as AWS and Azure.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container orchestration.
• Strong desire to watch YouTube videos of airplanes taking off and landing!
