The primary responsibilities for this position include partnering within our Financial Systems team, and with its stakeholders, to identify business objectives and priorities to enable business growth and seamless financial operations from an end-user point of view.  Developing and troubleshooting errors within the technical framework of Groupon’s global ERP solution (NetSuite OneWorld), creating & executing test plans for scripts and integrations, develop and maintain integrations into and out of the Global ERP tool using Groupon’s ETL tool, and be a strategic partner with our global accounting team’s in order to define business requirements and maintain accounting-related tools.

This role will report to the Manager of Financial Systems and be based in Chicago, IL USA.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Support

• Aid in developing the technical aspects of our global financial systems
• Ensure that the platform is being used to its fullest potential through designing and building scripts around our Financial Systems’ needs.
• Work closely with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Tax and Operations to gather requirements and turn these requirements into deliverables through building, designing and / or enhancing the technology within the Financial Systems’ platform.
• Identify new system requirements, determine impact on existing systems & business processes, and develop appropriate specifications for product enhancement requests.
• Build and deliver intelligent and robust integration solutions within Groupon’s Global Financial Systems.
• Leverage the NetSuite Talk product and other integration platforms, where possible, and extend the platform using NetSuite SuiteScripts and NetSuite SuiteFlow
• Have the ability to quickly troubleshoot integration/script failures
• Optimize the Accounting Team’s day to day processes by leveraging ETL integration tools and scripts
• Work directly with our internal product teams to ensure that our technology infrastructure is seamlessly and effectively integrated with our third-party software, designing and building the necessary application to make this happen.
• Provide regular updates to management on issues arising from end users.

Desirable candidates will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years of technical development, test, release and administration management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – proven ability to effectively translate technical information to non-technical individuals
• Experience with advanced PDF and FreeMarker is highly desirable
• Positive attitude, strong analytical and excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn new processes quickly and manage/prioritize multiple work streams effectively
• Experience building complex Java scripts, and cloud system integrations is helpful
• Proficiency writing object-oriented JavaScript and PL/SQL
• an understanding of the Internet technology stack
• Direct experience with NetSuite preferred including practical knowledge of SuiteFlow, SuiteScript, and SuiteAnalytics is a plus
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent investigation and diagnostics skills
