The XMPie Developer will assist with creation and deployment of XMPie storefront sites, multichannel campaign workflow creation and campaign product programming. The XMPie developer will implement XMPie tagging in InDesign and HTML-based layouts to create reusable configurations for variable imaging direct marketing products. This position will work closely with the Creative Technology Manager, Studio and Operations teams to ensure the configuration accurately meets client requirements both in print and web. The XMPie developer will also work with our Product and Technical teams to ensure optimal business rule and data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Work from documented requirements to configure XMPie tagged InDesign files and HTML layouts including print and email products
- Create standardized and reusable variable templates
- Program all data and variables (ADORs) within the design layouts
- Connect to data sources and create SQL/QLingo syntax based on documented business rules
- Create responsive email templates using XMPL technology
- Set up complex, dynamic text flow layouts to accommodate a wide range of variability
- Upload and manage variable campaigns within uProduce/XM Circle
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure a quality product that meets expectations
- Work with fulfillment partners to ensure InDesign files meet their needs for imaging
- Structure configurations logically for re-use and ability for others to understand
Desired Skills & Experience
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field
- Experience working with XMPie uPlan, uProduce, XM Circle and uStore or comparable software platforms
- Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Adobe InDesign current versions
- Experience with Website & responsive Email development
- Proficient in the following languages: HTML & CSS, SQL, and JavaScript
- Understanding of XML and REST API’s
- Experience in C# is a plus
- Experience with multi-channel marketing campaign development and deployment
- Strong sense of quality assurance principles, understanding of potential process failure points and the ability to mitigate quality risks
- Strong understanding of version control and data integrity principles
- Strong oral and written communication skills - with both technical and non-technical people (including clients)
- Strong attention to detail is a must
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- High level of professionalism
