We're seeking a full-time, on-location front-end developer. We are Neoteric Design: an intentionally small yet mighty Chicago-based digital firm that designs and develops sites and web apps for innovative businesses, cultural institutions, and universities. Day to day, you will:

Work collaboratively with colleagues who excel in Ruby, user experience, business strategy, project management, and QA. About 25% of your work will involve user experience writ large: UI and responsive design, Figma prototypes, and design systems. About 75% of your work will involve front end development, working with CSS frameworks and toolkits, ERB, Typescript, Webpack, Gulp, and other tools. You’ll work across three product lines: JAMstack sites with Hugo, Forestry CMS, and Netlify; custom Ruby on Rails client web apps; and our custom Rails CMS.

You’ll need:

• Excellent skills in HTML/CSS/JS — you might be as likely to design in browser as you would in Figma or Sketch
• Demonstrated experience with front end frameworks and JS libraries
• Demonstrated understanding of web typography, grid systems, and design systems
• Desire to learn and lead with new front end strategies, technologies, and methods
• Outstanding written, oral, and presentation communication skills
