Front-End Web Developer
ThinkMarkets is a global online brokerage firm, specializing in Foreign Exchange and Commodities trading. Our mission is to disrupt the brokerage industry with our technology platform, superior data insights and marketing practices. We are seeking a Front-End Web Developer to join our rapidly growing global workforce based in Chicago!
The ideal candidate will be able to implement new technologies to improve the current architecture and drive the front-end development of our web applications. He/she will be a technology enthusiast, go-getter, and will show excellent time management skills. This person should be willing and excited about the opportunity to work alongside project managers, engineers, and other developers globally to improve all aspects of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Work well across all teams, both in office and globally, to create and maintain existing portals and backend application interfaces
- Take a lead in the planning, development, and maintenance of all web applications
- Develop integrations to external services and software
- Produce and maintain technical documentation of the developed modules and applications
- Track and successfully resolve any UI/UX errors
- Clearly and accurately present shared ownership of our product vision
- Consistently provide monthly reports to direct manager
Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer science or related field from an accredited university
- 3+ years of experience using modern web applications
- Experience using frontend tools such as JavaScript, ReactJS, Redux, HTML5, and CSS3
- Demonstrated understanding of UI, device compatibility, and general web functions
- Experience implementing RESTful Web Services
- Knowledge and understanding of OOP, design patterns, and data structures
- Experience building complex SPA applications
- Experience successfully developing interfaces for trading applications is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking skills, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
