The successful Front-End Web Developer will partner with the Ecommerce and IT teams to support the existing ecommerce site, lead the transition to and ultimately own our upcoming website (currently in development) as well as build new internal tools that will drive new business.  This job is a split role where the chosen candidate will work half time with Ecommerce and half with the IT team. 

 

Functions:

  • Partner with Ecommerce team to develop new responsive templates in the CMS based on wireframes to optimize landing pages / conversions and overall guest experience
  • Ensure technical feasibility and offer creative opinion of design ideas/concepts and translate them into visually-accurate HTML
  • Build and customize existing CMS plugins/modules to add new functionalities enhancing user experience
  • Help set up new A/B tests that need specific developments or customization to drive incremental sales
  • Support our analytics tracking by updating existing tags or adding new ones
  • Monitor technical site performance (load time, etc.) across all devices and provide recommendations to improve efficiency
  • Technical web lead for external agency who is developing our brand-new ecommerce site to be launched January 2019
  • Deploy new changes to live website using git workflow and code reviews when necessary
  • Develop front end applications for our internal CRM system (Salesforce) and assist with implementation and development of companywide MS SharePoint / Portal sites
  • Troubleshoot user issues and bugs of internal software’s and external sites
  • Act as second tier support for best practices and end user documentation
  • Work with a development team within an agile methodology to assist in developing and implementing solutions for the business.
  • Accurately gauge development timelines, meet deadlines and prioritize tasks on multiple projects

The successful Front-End Web Developer will be indispensable in the attainment of the company’s revenue targets, will contribute to the creation of an unforgettable guest experience, will be favorably viewed by coworkers, and will be efficient in the execution of duties.  Performance will be measured by timeliness of task completion, management evaluation, and feedback from peers.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Technology related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in web development, application development and testing
  • Comprehensive understanding of HTML, PHP, CSS, & JavaScript
  • Experience with jQuery, AngularJS, React, and other JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with Drupal or similar CMS and building custom extensions including components, modules, and plugins
  • Experience using VCS such as Git or Subversion, preferably Git
  • Experience with MVC web applications utilizing RESTful API services and consuming JSON data
  • Development and support experience with enterprise applications and integrations, such as Salesforce or Microsoft Office 365
  • Comfort in explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in submitting and participating in code reviews
  • Understanding of Gitflow
  • Proven knowledge of the most current security standards and best practices
