You might not know that we have our own 'Start-up' within Perkins+Will.  Our start-up is called i/o -- the i/o group, based out of Chicago, is responsible for driving digital transformation at Perkins+Will - building compelling digital experiences for our teams and our clients.  Our projects range anywhere from - a client engagement App for our clients (we call it PLUS - check out Apple Store), creating a global transparency website (transparency.perkinswill.com) to drive global transparency in material health, merging spatial insights about buildings into our applications.  We are in a unique space - at the intersection of Space, Design and Technology.  Almost all our projects use these dimensions. If you are interested in this space/design/data/technology convergence, you should be working at Perkins+Will within our i/o team. Our team (of about 8, but growing) come from different backgrounds - economics, architecture, graphic design, interior design, computer science and so on.  

We are looking for interesting, curious, team-centered individuals to join our group.  We’ve also recently transitioned to a brand new JS/TypeScript stack (mostly Node and Angular). 

An ideal candidate will have great skills in Javascript (Node, Angular, React, ReactNative).  He/she will also have some experience with databases (relational and noSQL), REST services, API Development, AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, 

Responsibilities Include:

• Write clean, performant, maintainable code (javascript, ES6)

• Design and implement elegant solutions that contribute to our technical architecture

• Maintaining and adding to our quickly expanding API

• Effectively communicate good design patterns and solutions to the team while identifying anti-patterns

• Keep up with evolving tech trends and best practices
