Position Overview
The Information Security Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing monitoring solutions focused on threat detection of Wintrust's critical business processes. The Information Security Engineer will be a member of the team that supports and maintains the application and system security logging platform for incident and event management.
Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and operation of Splunk Enterprise technology
• Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and Splunk Enterprise performance
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
• Troubleshoot issues and outages and document the problems and their resolution.
• Collaborate with analytics experts to improve data that feeds Splunk Enterprise to improve data - driven decision making within the department
• Provide documentation and technical specifications for upgrades and configuration changes
• Build technical documentation and manuals

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Information Technology or a relevant experience
• 5+ years of Information Technology engineering experience
• 3+ years of PowerShell or scripting language experience
• Demonstrated ability to be the SME in OS level engineering (Win and Linux)
• Knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
• Process oriented with great documentation skills
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative
• Ability to work through ambiguous work situations
• Experience maintaining data processing systems
