Chicago-based startup Microsensor Labs (www.microsensorlabs.com) is looking for talented Engineers and Developers to join us on exciting IoT sensor projects.

Microsensor Labs is a tech startup that develops novel sensor solutions to improve the quality of health care. Our sensor technologies offer enhanced diagnostic capabilities and positive behavior intervention to make people’s lives healthier and easier. Since 2016, Microsensor Labs has been rapidly growing and funded with multi-million-dollar non-dilutive seed money from federal government (National Institute of Health, Department of Defense and National Science Foundation) to develop high-impact sensor technology, including 1) an IoT sensor system (currently in clinical trial) for improving providers' hand hygiene compliance and reducing hospital-acquired infections and 2) a point-of-care sensor for rapid detection of pathogens.

The candidates will work in an excellent environment for professional development. 1) Sensor Hardware Engineer (Full time/Intern/Co-Op)

- Job responsibility: design next-gen ultra-low-power wearable sensors

- 3+ years of experience in sensor electronics PCB design, layout and circuit analysis.

- Familiar with PCB tools (e.g. Altium Designer)

- Experience in battery operated sensor or low power sensor applications preferred

- Experience in embedded system design and wireless connectivity (e.g. Bluetooth and WiFi ) protocols preferred

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field. MS preferred.

 

2) IoT Sensor Test Engineer (Full time)

- 2+ years of experience in sensor and embedded system

- Experience with wireless communication protocols including Bluetooth Low Energy and WiFi

- Familiar with C or Python

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field. MS preferred.

 

3) IoT Firmware Engineer (Full-time/Intern/Co-Op)

- Job responsibility: develop firmware for smart IoT sensor network

- 3+ years of experience with embedded system design in C/C++

- Previous experience in BLE and WiFi required

- Experience in battery operated sensor or low power sensor applications preferred

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, MS preferred

4) IoT Software Engineer (Part-time/Intern)

- Familiar with cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google etc)

- Experience in DevOps Tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis, Ansible, Puppet, Chef) required

- Experience with Python/Django and container technologies (e.g., Docker)preferred

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering with 3+ years of related experience

5) Assay Development Engineer (Full-time/Intern)

- Lab experience in molecular/cellular assay techniques required. Examples include DNA or RNA isolation and/or PCR, arrays, or sequencing (Sanger or next-generation sequencing), or protein-based methods (protein extraction/purification, western blotting, or ELISA assays) or cell isolation and analysis (flow-cytometry, magnetic separation).

- Previous experience with clinical samples such as serum preferred.

- Experience with embedded system (e.g. Arduino) and programming languages preferred

- Experience with microfluidic device design and fabrication preferred

- Minimum of MS degree in Bio Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related fields.
