Position: Lead Consulting Engineer

Location: United States; this position is remote and requires 25% travel

Status: Full-time

Lead Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day technical aspects of professional services
  • Work as part of the management team to balance resources, set strategy, and implement business tactics
  • Provide engineering leadership across solution design, development, beta testing, sales, professional services and support
  • Ensure that staff has skills and behaviors to perform tasks fully through effective communication of goals, objectives, and performance and, as necessary, improvement plans
  • Direct interface with customers concerning engineering challenges
  • Work closely with other team members with the common goal of customer satisfaction
  • Schedule and track new projects and maintain existing programs
  • Work across multiple concurrent projects, responsible for installation, integration, and deployment of security solutions in client environments
  • Development of custom solutions using a variety of protocols and technologies to integrate products with client’s target systems and applications
  • Assist Project Managers and Senior Architects in gathering and preparing delivery documentation, such as: requirements, documents, use cases, and flow diagrams
  • Work with clients post-implementation to support testing efforts, knowledge transfer, and project closeout

Key abilities required: 

  • Knowledge and understanding of current Security technologies and practices and their relationship to Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • A general understanding of supporting technologies and protocols including Linux and Windows administration, HTTP, XML, LDAP, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS)
  • Experience in Enterprise environments, and a working knowledge of best practices for architecture, change management, development methodologies, etc.
  • Innovative problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to independently research solutions to complex problems
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present information clearly and succinctly
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Hands-on development and integration experience
  • Customer facing experience

Lead Engineer Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years' demonstrated ability and proven success in professional service practice operational management
  • Prior experience in a Consulting, Engineering or Professional Services organization strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with senior management on the customer side
  • Experience working in an agile environment a plus
  • Experience with databases (especially Oracle & MS SQL Server) and ability to write complex SQL queries
  • Ability to write scripts (JavaScript, Unix Shell, and/or PowerShell)
  • Experience integrating with Web Services (SOAP & REST) and parsing JSON and XML data

  • Experience with Windows Server environments, specifically working with Active Directory, 
Exchange, and file servers
  • Experience with Linux server administration
  • Direct experience with Identity Management or Provisioning suites (RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle) a major plus
