About the Position
Raise is looking for a Lead Desktop Engineer to join our Security and Infrastructure team. In this position, you will lead a small team of desktop support agents and have the ability to help grow our Security culture with an initial focus on Corporate infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a diverse hands-on technical background in systems and network management, doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves to help keep us moving forward, and has a passion for security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of desktop support staff to help resolve end user desktop issues
  • Manage IT infrastructure to ensure our technology supports company operations, services and strategic objectives
  • Consult with users and management to assess technology needs and system requirements
  • Monitor new technology trends and best practices to enhance existing infrastructure and increase reliability or efficiency of existing systems
  • Collaborate with Security team to adequately protect end user workstations and infrastructure components
  • Ensure reliability of technology as well as timely and accurate response to internal technology requests
  • Oversee management of vendor relationships, negotiating contracts as needed
  • Develop, document and implement processes and procedures to improve daily flow of tasks or general infrastructure management
  • Assist in the planning and management of business continuity/disaster recovery procedures as well as incident response processes

Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience managing desktop infrastructures containing a mixed environment of workstations (Mac and Windows)
  • Hands on experience managing Windows services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI, GPO, DFS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with VoIP technologies and support across distributed offices
  • Experience mentoring and or directly managing a small desktop support team
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP network troubleshooting as well as tools for advanced troubleshooting
  • Demonstrable experience with one or more scripting languages (Powershell, Python, Ruby)
  • 3+ years working in a highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts, possibilities and limitations to a non-technical audience
  • Great sense of ownership and organization to take abstract ideas, turn them into technical plans and own the implementation
  • High attention to detail and constructive attitude in peer code reviews or other collaborative methods
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or comparable experience
  • CCNA, SCCP or similar certification is a plus
