We are looking for a Lead Devops/Systems Engineer to provide technical, strategic and operational leadership for a rapidly growing team responsible for cloud systems administration, developer productivity, site reliability and security/compliance. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, this role is for an experienced leader to set and achieve higher and higher standards for our practices in these areas. We are proud of what we’ve achieved so far: provisioning of a large AWS infrastructure, routine use of configuration as code, continuous deployment practices and regular progress against our HIPAA compliance roadmap. We need someone who can drive a big leap in scale as we grow the team, our product capabilities and our user base.

Minimum Qualifications

• A BS in Computer Science, engineering or a related field
• 8+ years of experience as a software, systems or devops engineer 3+ years of experience leading a technical team
• Experience scaling and ensuring reliability of large SaaS / PaaS applications
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey clear priorities and mission to your team and engineering leadership
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business teams on unplanned outages, planned downtimes, management of capacity, infrastructure costs etc.
• Strong Experience with automation tools and configuration-as-code (CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Vagrant, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience managing and troubleshooting large AWS infrastructures
• Comfortable scripting in Python, Bash, Ruby, or similar
• An ability and eagerness to constantly learn and teach others

Significant experience with one or more of the following:

• Developing web application software
• Databases including proficiency in SQL, administration, programmatic usage, analytics databases, and/or NoSQL
• Error aggregation and anomaly detection
• Establishing SLAs
• Containerized code deployment using Docker
• Security monitoring
• Infrastructure cost forecasting and budgeting
