As a Software Engineer at Cardiosense, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of our core data pipeline.  You will work closely with healthcare systems to develop platform requirements, drive technology decisions, and implement core components. Additionally, you will help us to manage and build out our software development team as our company continues to grow.

Our office is located in downtown Chicago with flexibility to work-from-home. We need a team player capable of wearing multiple hats and being flexible with their roles and responsibilities. Our ideal candidate will have experience designing and developing enterprise IoT or cloud data streaming platforms and a demonstrated interest in healthcare information technology. They will be a self-starter with the ability to work well both autonomously and as part of a growing team. And most importantly, they will be a continuous learner with a curiosity for wearable healthcare technology.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Help to define system requirements and architecture
  • Help to manage and grow the software development team
  • Develop core components of our healthcare data pipeline
  • Ensure our software meets industry and regulatory standards

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years industry experience in software development
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP etc.)
  • Experience with databases and data stream frameworks
  • Familiarity with IoT system architecture
  • Familiarity with networking and cybersecurity concepts
  • Ability to generate software requirements and software design specifications
  • Familiarity with software testing frameworks and concepts
  • Strong focus on software quality
  • Proficiency with Python, JavaScript, Java, and Git
  • Management/leadership experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare IT experience
  • Experience designing and deploying production systems using modern technologies
  • Experience managing and scaling data pipelines
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7v2, IHE)
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations and quality standards regarding software development
  • Experience with both relational and non-relational databases (timeseries, BLOB etc.)
  • Experience with front end and mobile app developement
  • Understanding of embedded systems hardware limitations and development
  • Familiarity with ML and signal processing concepts
