The Northern Trust Company seeks a Lead, SW Dev Ops Eng to design and implement software applications' build, release, deployment, containerization, and configuration control and management. Gather stakeholder requirements and drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions; prototype, architect, and implement solutions. Build and execute test plans, perform quality reviews, and resolve operational issues. Utilize expertise to provide guidance on software development and act as a resource for colleagues. Support and assist the team on their public cloud and DevOps roadmap. Apply experience of DevOps/SRE best practices to enable highly available and reliable systems and processes.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with DevOps automation, Infrastructure provisioning on Public Cloud, network design/implementation, development, continuous integration, and continuous deployments (CI/CD).

Experience must include a minimum of:

5 years of engineering experience deploying and managing pipelines in an enterprise scale environment utilizing GitHub, Azure DevOps, or other build automation tool;

5 years of experience executing test plans and performing quality reviews within the application lifecycle;

5 years of experience with managed services in cloud-native environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP;

5 years of experience with Git, HTML, Java, JavaScript, JIRA, Maven, PowerShell, Splunk, and SQL;

5 years of experience with scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) languages to automate tasks/services;

5 years of experience incorporating security tools, scans, and quality gates into the pipelines to adhere to control standards and regulatory requirements;

4 years of experience setting up the infrastructure, processes, and tools for container-based development and deployment;

4 years of experience with IP networking, VPNs, VPCs, DNS, load balancers, security groups, and firewalls;

4 years of experience using application, network, and security diagnostic and monitoring tools to understand the existing application and network workloads and detect security vulnerabilities.
