Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join Wealth Management technology team to support PFS IS application initiatives. We are looking for a Senior Lead Developer with experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technology background working in various systems and be an effective business partner contributing into meeting the overall organizational goals. As a lead developer, you will lead and develop on proprietary software applications, champion new technologies and best practices, manage strong relationships with stakeholders as well as spearhead implementation needs with vended platform(s).

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Obtains a highly detailed understanding of the applications for which the role is responsible. Acts as technical expert on these applications when interfacing with other teams, both internal and external, and senior management.
  • Thoroughly understands decision process issues of technology choice, such as capacities, response time, data interfacing, client server communication, industry standard technologies and new industry trends, etc.
  • Design and develop Micro services based on design documents that fit within technical framework as outlined by Northern Trust architects
  • Knowledge of agile methodology, effective communication, influencing, and organizational skills, must possess initiative to accomplish tasks and make decisions.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Participates in the building of new and on-going vendor relationships.
  • Evaluates and selects from existing and emerging technologies those options best fitting business/product needs.
  • Communicate status (written and verbal) to project team and management
  • Work with management on setting strategic priorities and direction for the teams reporting to self. Think outside the box capabilities
  • Ensure code meets standards and tested appropriate to the platform
  • Provide guidance and direction to teams on technologies and the right way of doing things.
  • Ensures adherence to organizational policies, guidelines and processes
  • Engages in high level break/fix support during disaster recovery scenarios and assists with Production issues when higher level analysis is required.
  • Knowledge of full software development lifecycle
  • A positive goal orientated attitude with a focus on delivery

Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and developing applications
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Experience creating proof of concepts as needed
  • Experience in Java/JEE/.NET and Web based development experience
  • Experience in Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC)
  • Knowledge in private/public cloud solutions
  • Familiarity with Banking and Financial applications
  • Experience in REST API Development experience.

Preferred/ Recommended:

  • Experience using TDD approach in DevOps environment with an ability to script/code.
  • Experience in .NET/Azure/PCF cloud framework
  • Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server experience.
  • Ability to write Unix/Perl scripts.
  • Experience in ETL tools Datastage, Informatica.
  • Junit-The de-facto standard for unit testing Java applications.
  • Previous experience interfacing with vendor applications
  • Previous experience interfacing with multi shore teams

Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • 9+ years of Software Development Experience
  • Experience in agile development methodology
