Job Objective
The Linux Systems Engineer will be responsible for the configuration and support of our Linux technology infrastructure. They will serve as a member of the Operations group providing on-site support at the main office as well as our datacenters.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, installation, support, and configuration of Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS) and associated services.
- Monitor and respond to alerts from the technology infrastructure in order to ensure proper SLA's are met.
- Work with a team providing capacity planning and make recommendation on new equipment and services.
- Actively monitor the issue tracking system and address/resolve outstanding issues.
General Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in information technology/computer science or equivalent experience.
- Detail oriented.

- Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to document work associated with troubleshooting.
Technical Requirements
- 4-5 years of expertise in Linux server administration (RHEL, CentOS)
- Experience building and maintaining IP-based networks (Cisco)
- Experience setting up and maintaining server and application monitoring (Nagios)
- Experience in managing MTAs such as Postfix and Qmail
- Scripting experience (bash, perl, python, ruby, etc). Ability to automate routine tasks.
- Experience with F5 Load balancers (iRule experience a plus)
- Configuration management experience (Puppet a big plus)
- Experience with VMWare (ESXi, clustering), a plus.
- MySQL Experience, also a plus.
