This position is an Engineering Manager within our Advocacy group, and will lead the team in a new and exciting project this year. Engineering is truly the engine of our tremendous growth over the past 7 years, and this position will be focused on delivering brand new products and experiences to market, while unifying existing architecture and tools.

Rally Engineering is modern, public cloud (AWS), microservices based large distributed system and is quality driven. Our stack consists of Scala, Play, Akka, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Docker, Mesos, Marathon, Jenkins, Kafka, Spark, HDFS, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • You will provide thought leadership and technical guidance to unify and expand our existing systems during rapid business growth.
  • You will thoughtfully hire phenomenal engineers who complement the existing team
  • You will lead execution of projects and partner with various leaders in Engineering, Product and other teams as needed
  • Posses solid coding skills and bring an unwavering passion for leading the dynamics of a fast-paced environment
  • Technical, hands-on, and mission-driven to lead our engineering efforts

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant engineering work experience
  • 4+ hands-on technical management experience
  • Exceptional coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications
  • Track record in partnering with recruiting on hiring to build incredible engineering teams
  • Actively coached and mentored team members in their careers
  • Independently started self-sustaining teams
  • Been actively involved in setting product strategy
  • Consistently made culture choices that positively impact all of engineering
  • Shipped several large scale projects with multiple dependencies across teams
  • BS / MS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, relevant work experience).
