At Northern Trust, keeping our client's Wealth Management is excited to meet our future Security Architect. Day to day, this person will be looking at the Cloud through a cyber and information security lens. They will be responsible for defining cloud security patterns and securing data in the public cloud. The Security Architect will be a member of the Public Cloud Enablement team and be the thought leader to provide strategic direction and security roadmaps for our public cloud environments. We are not looking for your average security architect; we are looking for someone who has a strong foundational security expertise in the Public Cloud, as well as Financial Services or another highly regulated space. Minimum Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related field• Five to Eight (5-8) years of experience in cybersecurity, including compliance and risk management • Five (5) years of experience in technology design, implementation and delivery (in addition to cybersecurity)• Two (2) years of experience in cloud security• Working knowledge of Public cloud platforms, Azure and/or AWS

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader, including:• Experience with assessment, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a broad set of security technologies and processes such as data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management, systems security, network security within IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments and CI/CD pipeline tooling and deployments• Experience helping application architects and developers design risk appropriate security controls that align with security and cloud computing standards.• Experience defining cloud security patterns and securing data in the public cloud• Extensive knowledge of security tools, controls and processes, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), public key infrastructure (PKI), identity and access management (IDAM) systems, antivirus and firewalls• Strong knowledge of newer security controls and technologies such as endpoint detection and response (EDR), threat intelligence platforms, security automation and orchestration, deception technologies and application controls• Excellence in communicating cybersecurity risk to business and technical stakeholders• Experience driving measurable improvement in monitoring and response capabilities at scale• Experience working with purple teams (red and blue) to train application teams to identify, remediate, and prevent vulnerabilities and security issues • Familiarity with scripting in Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, PHP or Ruby.• Experience with one or more of the following: ISO 27001, NIST, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Center for Internet Security (CIS) standards or Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2• CCNA/P, CISSP, CISM and/or SANS certification a plus• Familiarity with US and global privacy laws• Ability to think strategically and tactically, with effective decision-making skills.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to author and present materials ranging from detailed technical specifications to high-level presentations
