QA Automation Engineer / SDET

Position Summary

Working within the Technology Department, the QA Automation Engineer will be expanding membership of a growing QA Team, helping to facilitate and automate the QA process throughout the organization. This person will help coordinate implement tests, help evolve a framework, identify risks in all areas of our development work (front-end, API, et al).

Key Responsibilities

  • Help develop and implement unit tests to bring tests to coverage and quality standards.

  • Create test data using data factories and internal object models.

  • Review code coverage continually to find gaps in coverage standards.

  • Work with devs to determine the best testing approach for existing and new features.

  • Write automated tests in our Ember framework.

  • Develop and enhance Dev and QA documentation.

  • Participate in enhancing our evolving continuous integration process.

  • Manual testing of new features where needed.

  • Work effectively with employees at all levels to understand QA needs across the organization, as well as to help establish priorities and expectations

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related technical field.

  • With some background in Ruby development, RSpec (desired), Automation, REST API experience. We are open to working with skilled Python backgrounds as well.

  • 1-3 years of application SDET experience.

  • 1-3 years of experience with RSpec/Pytest.

  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM development.

  • Excellent QA aptitude and ability to drive process improvements.

  • Ability to communication through documentation clearly.

  • Strong troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.

Nice to Have (any, not all):

  • Experience tracking issues through the lifecycle of the issue.

  • Exposure to Git, GitHub, GitLab.

  • Experience with Docker, Selenium, Cucumber, Python, Java is a plus.

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery.

  • Experience with UI frameworks such as Bootstrap, React & Ember.
