Level: Mid-Level

Position: Full-time

Location: West Loop, Chicago, IL

What we’re looking for:

  • An automotive quality engineer to join our rapidly growing team
  • Work closely with the FR manufacturing team on a daily basis to identify, document, and implement improvements. 
  • Ensure that all key manufacturing processes related to the manufacture of parts are identified and documented appropriately.
  • Lead efforts on QA data collection and analysis.
  • Issue monthly reports on production quality performance (quality inspection data and related)
  • Co-manage the annual ISO-AS audits with the Director of Quality
  • Co-manage process and procedural updates to the QMS
  • Assist in the preparation of customer site visits and audits at FR locations
  • Co-manage the NCR and CAPA programs and ensures that data and reports are closed in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that clear and concise part specifications have been established and communicated by the customer to FR.
  • Conduct and co-manage quality audits at high impact supplier locations as well as internally at FR.
  • Work closely with the Quality Technicians on data collection and analysis work.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.

Background:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or related experience
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) through ASQ is desirable
  • 2-4 years experience as a quality engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Automotive experience a must
  • Experience leading quality initiatives
  • Experience leading OEM audits
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well versed in Microsoft Suite – Excel, Word, Power Point and data collection and analysis.
  • Additive manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Team player with can-do positive attitude who wants to make a difference
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work occasional off-shift and weekend work
  • Enjoys life and wants to succeed in a demanding but fun environment
