Senior Cloud Architect

The Senior Cloud Architect will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of cloud within SAP Fieldglass. The position will require taking our solution from a system to a platform. The Architect will help the organization understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. The Architect will be dynamic and creative, and willing to take on each new challenge. This is an on-site position in our Naperville or Chicago office.

What You Will Deliver

• Craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that run Sap Fieldglass platforms on all Major Cloud Providers.
• Partner with Development, Information Technology, and Quality Assurance to act as a trusted technology advocate and liaison for all cloud designs.
• Regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on public cloud vendors.
• Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services to the cloud.
• Participate in and lead deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to employees.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge between the SAP Fieldglass engineers.
• Adopt and potentially lead scrum practices across the group.

What You Need to Bring

• 5+ years of design & implementation experience with distributed applications
• 3+ years experience as an engineer working in networking, infrastructure or database architecture
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
• Past experience with one of the major cloud providers
• Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
• Working knowledge of programming languages 
• Passion for educating, training, designing, and building the next cloud solution
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with all levels of the organization
• Unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
• Thorough understanding of the impact of technical debt involved with DevOps and NoOps
• Thorough understanding of how to strategically develop agile infrastructures
