Senior Digital Marketing Developer (Freelance)

 

closerlook's Senior Digital Marketing Developer will play an integral role in developing and executing marketing touchpoints. Responsibilities center on working closely with Strategic, Creative and Technology teams to translate communication strategies and functional requirements into operational email campaigns, banner ads, and websites.  

 

The Digital Marketing Developer specializes in programming marketing drivers and landing pages. They must be proficient in translating creative designs into HTML/CSS/JS, understand the role of data and marketing automation systems in B2B and B2C settings, and communicate technical processes to non-technical audiences, including best practices and recommendations, to help our clients reach their customers. 

 

The Digital Marketing Developer is part of the larger closerlook technology team and reports to the Email Operations Manager. 

 

DUTIES  

  • Develop and code HTML/SASS/Javascript for  
  • Table-based HTML emails 
  • Rich media and static banner ads 
  • Web pages and forms in CMS systems (Marketo, AEM) 
  • Implement email campaigns and flows within email marketing systems (Marketo) 
  • Translate communication strategy and creative design into tactical execution, including documenting requirements for A/B testing, dynamic content, and personalization in campaigns  
  • Provide technical feasibility and time estimates for projects based on creative design 
  • Partner with Quality Assurance team to product error-free deliverables 
  • Manage the technical execution of email marketing campaigns for B2B and B2C audiences 
  • Identify opportunities to optimize our campaigns to increase customer acquisition and retention 
  • Aid in data organization and troubleshooting in marketing automation platforms 
  • Stay ahead of email marketing strategies and be an ambassador for email marketing best practices 
  • Work closely with the CRM data team to ensure email metrics are integrated and available in a larger CRM technical ecosystem 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • BA/BS degree required  
  • 2-4 years of HTML/CSS/JS programing experience with experience in banner ads and email quirks 
  • 1 years+ of experience with marketing automation and campaign management software (Marketo, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.) 
  • Experience with AEM Touch UI preferred.  
  • 1 – 2 years of B2B direct marketing experience 
  • Knowledge of email-friendly HTML with experience in debugging for a multitude of email systems (MS Outlook, Gmail, etc). 
  • Understanding of the data needed to support the execution of communication strategies 
  • Proven skills with email marketing operations, technology and campaign management 

 

Preferred Experience 

  • Tech toolbox: 
  • CSS pre-processors (Sass preferred)  
  • Version control (Git or TFS (preferred)) 
  • Javascript 
  • MSSQL  
  • Experience using an IDE (Visual Studio Professional preferred)
