Senior Full Stack Software Engineer
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’re expected to do more than just write code; you’re hired to think, collaborate, create, teach, and learn. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, UX, and your engineering team to create solutions, develop stories, and execute them. You’ll be expected to advocate for the user and be a technical leader, setting an example for the less experienced engineers on the team. As a technical leader, you’ll have ownership of medium to large scale projects. You’ll make decisions and own them, getting recognition for your wins, and support when you fail. You’ll guide and mentor those engineers on your team, and you can expect the same from your manager and other tech leaders.
Essential Functions:
- Utilize different back-end APIs, Architecture, and integrations to design, develop and optimize software to scale for rapid growth. Architect, design, analyze, develop, implement and maintain software. Implement new product features and enhance performance and quality.
- Collaborate with Product team, data scientists, quality assurance and others to meet the needs of stakeholders and deliver best in class products.
- Lead, mentor and hold a team accountable for delivering high quality product.
- Collaborate with Product to define a roadmap.
- Continually invest in your own technical development and make an impact on your team's development.
This role could be for you if you have experience in all of these areas and a mastery in some:
- Strong skills in a server -side language. (JS/Node is a strong preference)
- RESTful API design
- Microservice Architecture
- SQL and relational database architecture
- UI development with modern libraries like React
- Unit/integration testing
- DevOps experience is a strong bonus
Education and/or Experience:
- Significant experience as a software engineer, with a proven track record of leading large projects from design to completion.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern back-end development and well-reasoned design decisions.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Bias toward ownership in your designs, your code and your team.
- A collaborative attitude toward solving problems with a need to ask why to understand the problem you’re solving.
- The desire to help others and drive the team forward, with a passion about investing in and mentoring other engineers.
- A Testing mindset, whether TDD or BDD, your code is covered.
- Ability to problem solve unique & complex issues, both independently & collaboratively.
- Is passionate about investing in and mentoring other engineers.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
