We recently launched a Chicago office and are looking for strong software engineers across multiple skill sets and at all levels of seniority to join our Coinbase Markets team in Chicago. You will be part of a greenfield effort to build out a scalable, low-latency exchange in the Cryptocurrency space, working along other highly talented and collaborative engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Work side-by-side on a small team of senior network engineers

• Own the network team’s software portfolio, including:

• Automated test (functionality, performance, load, conformance, security) portfolio

• Network environment metadata

• Network and device telemetry data capture

• Network dashboard, monitoring and alerting

• Conduct research into network behavior and optimization using internal data and research platform

Requirements:

• Strong background in building reliable, scalable, and maintainable software systems

• Skills in Python and Go preferred, Elixer ;-P

• UI/UX skills

• Postgres SQL (PLSQL)

• Experience with message brokers (WAMP) / Web sockets

• Time series data experience

• API development

Nice to Haves:

• Experience working with relational and columnar databases

• Experience working with message broker software (Kafka, etc)

• Experience building infrastructure-as-code automation solutions

• Experience working in medium-to-big data research environments

• Knowledge of networking

• Knowledge of specific switches and vendor-ware a plus
