Senior Systems Engineer

As Peapod continues to grow, the pull on our systems is greater and greater. In this position your primary focus will be to build, manage, and maintain our Linux/Unix systems in support of Peapod.com and supporting business systems.
More specifically, you will be responsible for:
Offering strategic input and executing enterprise architecture setup and design.
Collaborating with Peapod’s software development and DevOps teams.
Automation of server and application deployment using DevOps processes and tools.
Enterprise-wide backup management.
Planning and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions.
Implement HA/DR solutions and eliminate single points of failure across multiple applications.
Working with the Peapod Security team to ensure systems are secure.
Assisting the Network Engineering team with network design.
Providing rotating 24x7 on-call support for Peapod’s Production Operations Team.
Investigation and implementation of new technologies.
Performance tuning servers and applications.
Demonstrating leadership skills which include: Teamwork, Diversity, Integrity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
Working knowledge of Web Technologies: Weblogic/Apache/Tomcat/.NET/Firewalls/DNS.
5+ years of Linux/UNIX and Open Systems administration.
2+ years of automation tools such as SALT Stack (preferred), Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
2+ years experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS/Azure/Google Apps.
Experience managing clustering technologies.
Experience and passion for availability in e-commerce environments.
Excellent OS scripting skills with scripting languages, i.e. Perl and k-shell, bash.
Strong VMware skills, ops-manager, VSAN, SRM a plus.
Java, .NET and Relational Database experience a plus.
Must have excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
Must be familiar with shell and kernel level programming.
Must be able to multitask, be process-minded and detail oriented.
Self-motivated team player that can set priorities and manage to deadlines.
